I season my yoga classes with inquisition, inspiration, exploration, humor and care.
I found yoga – or perhaps more honestly yoga found me – in the late 90’s at a time I was suffering from great stress and anxiety in my life. In yoga I found a calm that I was longing for in my life. I also started to feel and see my body, mind and soul in a different way. It was the beginning of an exquisite journey to myself that I am still very happily traveling today.
I have been a teacher all of my life – it is my calling. As a child I used to hold classes for my dogs, cats and neighbors – teaching them what I had learned that day. I now am a veteran public school music teacher and yoga teacher. I feel in all of my teaching it is my job to awaken the possibilities in others. Possibilities for healing, for growing, and for something magical to occur.
I season my yoga classes with inquisition, inspiration, exploration, humor and care. I delight in teaching classes that move mindfully with emphasis on breath and healthy alignment, but I always keep in mind I am teaching people – not poses. I enjoy bringing more awareness to the sweet subtlety and nuance of each pose and movement for every individual … and all of this with a sense of serious fun!
My own practice continues to bring balance to my busy life and teaches me new things about myself every single day. This is what I want to share with my students.
When not in class you can find me enjoying the out of doors in my garden, walking and playing with my dogs and playing and listening to all types of music. I love good food, holistic healing, exploring new places and time with good friends and family. It’s a great life!
