I am a walking advertisement for the idea that yoga is a life practice, aside from whatever it does to your glutes and abs.
A university teacher in my “day job,” I have found teaching yoga to be a great “body supplement” to the mind work I do at school. Beyond questions of health and stress reduction, practicing and teaching yoga asana (“the poses”) has been an amazing way for me to connect body, mind, and “heart.” I like to be a student in and to teach classes that are vigorous and challenging (but not too challenging!), with a bit of humor to help move things along. I am a walking advertisement for the idea that yoga is a life practice, aside from whatever it does to your glutes and abs. I’ve been doing yoga for more than 25 years (Iyengar, Anusara, and now, just “Hatha”) and teaching for more than 10. I’d love to see you in one of my classes.
